Celebrate Canada's 150th birthday in the Capital! (3 bed 2 bath historic home)
Celebrate Canada's party year in comfort! We offer a 3 bedroom / 2 bathroom semi-detached furnished home in Ottawa, for six months plus a week (January 1 - July 7 2017) to cover a sabbatical. You'll be well-placed for all Canada 150 celebrations as well as Canada Day 2017.
The house is convenient to all that the city offers. Our neighbourhood is quiet and safe. We have great neighbours and a vibrant community with three street festivals per year. The street is only one block long and has almost no traffic, and there is a small park at one end.
The house is two blocks from Carleton University, walking distance to Lansdowne Park/TD Place arena and the Glebe, and a short bus or bike ride from Centretown, the University of Ottawa, and the Byward Market. In winter, skating on the Rideau Canal, hockey and swimming at Brewer park, and sledding at the Arboretum, are all within easy reach. In spring the neighbourhood blooms and you will find yourself on the city's many bike paths or on a Bank Street patio. All amenities (grocery, wine/beer, restaurants, bookstore, drugstore, school, coffeeshops, bikeshop, music store/lessons, veterinarian, public library, cinema, arcade, live music) are within walking distance. You really couldn't be better situated in the city.
The house has a large kitchen, dining room, and living room with gas fireplace on the ground floor. The kitchen opens to a shaded back deck with dining table and potted herbs. There are two bedrooms, a playroom, and a full bath on the 2nd floor, and a large renovated attic bedroom and full bath on the 3rd floor. There is a washer/dryer in the basement. The house has central heat/AC, all the electronic requisites, and a dedicated parking space. We can offer use of the bikes (2 adult bikes and 2 kid bikes) for the period of the rental.
